Sports Team Emergency Action Plan

SPORTS TEAM EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN

Sports team seasonal play brings us spring training and summer fun. It’s how families in Kingwood, Porter, New Caney, Atascocita, Huffman, Valley Ranch, and surrounding communities spend quality family time together. We’re excited right along with you! We want the season to be healthy and uneventful for everyone. No one likes to see a child injured during gameplay. That is why we are bringing you a convenient, downloadable PDF EAP Guide.

The EAP Guide or Emergency Action Plan, is the most important information that your team coach can have on hand in the event of an emergency. It is a way to muster the team and account for all team members in the event of a weather emergency or fire. It’s a way to designate persons responsible for contacting emergency personnel. Additionally, there is a “quick evaluation” guide to help coaches and responsible persons decide when something is truly a medical emergency requiring an emergency room visit.

No sports team should be without an Emergency Action Plan. As a parent, you should ask your sports team coach weather or not an EAP has been created and where it is accessible to other coaches or parents involved in practices and games. When minutes count, there is no better peace of mind that knowing your child’s sports team has a plan for dealing with medical emergencies.

Elite Hospital Kingwood is invested in the health of your child. We want to be sure that everyone has an equal opportunity for excellent emergency care. We care about what happens when sports teams need medical care. We offer free CPR and CPR + First Aid for local sports teams and organizations. You can see when our next class is scheduled by visiting our website events page here: https://elitekingwood.com/events/

We also offer private dedicated sessions if you have a group of 10-12 individuals who would like to train together at our facility.

If you would like to speak with our Community Relations Director, Dr. Kim Waaso, about how to better prepare your team coaches and staff for an emergency, we’d love to help. Call (832) 777-6165 to schedule time with Dr. Waaso.
